Description
This self-paced Beginner’s Modern Calligraphy Online Course is every bit as effective as my in-person calligraphy workshops. There are no time or demonstration constraints, so I was able to include absolutely everything that you need to know! On film, I am able to communicate concepts from different shooting angles, and you can pause and re-watch videos as needed. If you don’t quite understand how to do something, there’s a “Discussion” portion under each lesson where you can ask questions. Lessons include a short quiz and homework assignments. I had been interested in dip pen calligraphy and tried to learn from books but found them uninspiring. Then I came across this course and it was fantastic! The supporting materials are great, there are a couple alphabets taught and plenty of practice. The videos are a great length and provide very clear instruction to get you going on the exercises. Lindsey is very encouraging and makes it clear that practice is necessary to get the hang of it and that everyone will have a bit of a different style and that’s just fine. The pace of the course is great and it was easy to track my progress. I felt motivated to continue to work my way through the course and looked forward to each lesson. How was I to know that I would fall down the most delightful rabbit hole of creativity and all round fun and relaxation. First, I loved the videos, so well thought out, plus I can view them as many times as I need. Second, it really starts at the beginning, what to buy, how to store it, where to buy supplies, and of course, how to , not only calligraphy, but watercolor, letters, envelopes and many lovely projects.
