Description

Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolors are student grade, which means that some of the pigments used to make certain colors are synthetic substitutes. These substitutions are made to keep costs low, as genuine pigment costs can be incredibly expensive. But, for a fraction of the price, these are fabulous to start off with because of their vibrancy and smoothness. Winsor & Newton Cotman is what got me hooked on watercolors! While I like to use artist grade watercolors, I still have a special place in my heart for the Cotman palette. You’ll see that I use these colors for many watercolor projects here on TPK!

Lovely selection of hues! And very affordable beautiful colors too! Frankly I don’t think I would be able to tell the difference between professional and student grade, as these pigments are just wonderful! So happy to have found a metal tin as well! Thank you Lindsey!

I am having so much fun with this watercolor set! The first thing I did was create a paint chart as you described in one of your blogs. Now I use the set to create all kinds of greeting cards for family and friends. The selection of colors is wonderful, and all of them are rich and beautiful!
