Yasutomo Sumi Ink – 2 oz. Bottle

Sumi ink is a favorite here at TPK because it dries a deep, matte black! Yasutomo sumi ink has a:
- Smooth, velvety consistency that’s perfect for beginners
- Scanner-friendly finish (I use sumi ink to make the letters for all TPK worksheets!)
Note that this ink’s bottle is not suitable for use with a dip pen. You’ll need to transfer the ink into a separate vessel (like TPK’s 1 oz. glass ink jar) in order to write with it!
Description
This listing is for 2 oz. of sumi ink, which comes in a container exactly like the one pictured. You’ll want to have a separate vessel on hand (like this glass jar) to transfer the ink into once you receive it! This ink is water-resistant, but not waterproof.
Note that if you’d prefer a larger size, we offer a 6 oz. bottle.
Sumi inks (KY and KF series) are certified AP non-toxic when used as a painting or drawing material. The AP (Approved Product) Seal identifies art materials that are safe and that are certified in a toxicological evaluation by a medical expert to contain no materials in sufficient quantities to be toxic or injurious to humans, including children, or to cause acute or chronic health problems (when used as recommended).

Great product! I bought this a year and a half ago and the bottle lasts a really long time. It’s a true black without drying with a hint of any other colors. Well-packaged on arrival!
Quinn Myers –
I love this ink. I haven’t tried any other black ink, but this works very well for my calligraphy.

This ink has a wonderful texture and color. I am enjoying it very much while practicing my flourishing! I placed an order after learning more about inks during the the TPK Intermediate Calligraphy class. My entire order arrived very quickly and was packaged very nicely. Thanks!

“Unique”. I bought Yasutomo Sumi Ink for one of the tutorials. It’s color compliments the work. I had a wood project I used it on. Came out nice. Try it, you might be surprised with the color.
