• Life and Artwork via iPhone Photos

    As I was flipping through photos on my iPhone the other day, I thought, “Hey, I’ve got some cool stuff here.” A lot of it is artwork or artwork in progress that I thought may be interesting to you, along with a couple of photos of how we spend our days. {Click images to enlarge.}

    In On Writing, Stephen King advises to always have a book on you. You never know when you’ll be waiting in line somewhere and have the perfect opportunity to read it. For years, I have tried to follow this advice … and for years, I bring a book when I don’t need it and forget to bring it when I do. There is one thing that I always do have, though, and that’s my iPhone.

    In the waiting minutes that I should be filling by reading a book {that I have invariably forgotten to bring along with me}, I flip through photos on my iPhone. And as I was flipping yesterday while waiting in the car for Hernán, I thought, “Hey, I’ve got some cool stuff here.” A lot of it is artwork or artwork in progress that I thought may be interesting to you, along with a couple of photos of how we spend our days. So, even though you’re probably not waiting for something right now, I invite you to flip through my iPhone photos with me! {Click images to enlarge.}

    I have one more thing to show you before I check out for the day; yesterday, I received the most gorgeous envelope in the mail from a reader in Germany. He used gouache to make vibrant, saturated letters in a font style that I have never utilized before. Hernán calls it “Lord of the Rings font”. Absolutely too cool!

    I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday! I’ll be spending the rest of the day doing some envelope and place card calligraphy, and working on my submissions for a calligraphy book I’m contributing to. We’ll talk next week!
