Supplies Have Arrived + Affiliate Program + a Grocery GIF
Hello and a very happy Monday to you! Today, I'm pleased to announce that oblique pens and kits are back in stock. As per reader requests, we set up an affiliate program, so please read on if you're interested! Arguably the best part of this newsletter comes at the end: the cutest grocery store GIF you'll ever see!
Finally: The Supplies Shop is Full of Goodies Again!
Until a couple of days ago, TPK's signature calligraphy starter kits were MIA. It snuck up on me: all of a sudden, we had no boxes, no booklets, and no Nikko G obliques!
You may have noticed that the supplies shop had a shortage of oblique pens and starter kits in the last few weeks! I'm happy to announce that these delights are finally back in stock. I currently have: 100 starter kits, 60 Brause EF66 oblique pens, and 40 Nikko G oblique pens.
The flanges for the Brause EF66 oblique were designed by Rodger Mayeda exclusively for TPK. Rodger, we appreciate you *so much*!
All flanges are handmade by Aiden or me, then I tweak and test every single one of them to ensure the proper writing angle! The flange for the Brause EF66 is a TPK exclusive design; you won't find this exact flange anywhere else online. It's super important that oblique flanges are adjusted properly to ensure your success, which is why I give the flanges so much attention and care!
Growing Pains
I want to take this opportunity to apologize about the limited stock in the past few weeks. I received a few emails every day asking when certain supplies would be available again, and I always felt bad saying I wasn't quite sure! My supplier hand-makes wooden obliques to order, and the time it takes to do that is variable. Anyway, lesson learned: I've got more pens on the way, which hopefully will arrive in mid-November, and I'm waiting on a shipment of "Pretty in Pink" obliques.
If you are eyeing an oblique pen or a calligraphy kit (which contains an oblique pen), I would suggest purchasing now before I run out of my current oblique stock! Ideally, that won't happen before the new shipment of obliques arrives, but that just hasn't been my luck in the past few weeks.
Affiliate Links
I received an email a couple of weeks ago asking if I have an affiliate program for TPK. It's not the first time I have been asked this, but I hadn't given it much thought, to be honest. Hernán did some research, though, and he figured out that implementing an affiliates link program isn't as daunting as we thought. So, we decided to start one!
If you're a calligraphy, art, or lettering enthusiast, we invite you to join the TPK team as an affiliate! You can respond directly to this email for more information.
We are offering a 5% commission for every supply sold through your referral, and a 10% commission for every digital item sold. If you are interested in joining our affiliate program, please reply to this email to let me know! And then ... I'll have Hernán get you all set up because I'm spending the week making flanges. :)
A Beast in Boulder: Remy's on the Move
TPK's CTO (Chief Time Manager), Remy, started walking last month. And boy, have things changed around here! Object displacement is at an all-time high; I'm not kidding when I say that there are calligraphy pens lurking in my refrigerator! Remy *loves* the independence that being able to walk gives him, and he's using that independence to "help" us whenever he can. For example, he made the executive decision to grab us some cheese at the store the other day:
Now that he can push his own cart, Remy loves grocery shopping!
I know what you're going to ask ... and the answer is no, we didn't end up buying that cheese! (He had no idea that we put it back.)
That's it for now! Thanks again, so much, for reading TPK -- and for your patience as I figure out how to run the Supplies Shop without a hitch! We'll reconvene with a review of Molly Suber Thorpe's new book Mastering Modern Calligraphy on Wednesday.
