For the past couple of years, I have created free printable goal lists to celebrate the new year. As I was brainstorming the design of this year’s goal list, I realized that it’s the things you do day to day that actually help you achieve your goals! That’s why, instead of a goal list, I created a printable weekly planner. I want to help you focus on daily organization in order to achieve success!

    The Design

There are a lot of printable weekly planners out there, and most (all?) of them have a computerized feel to them. I wanted this one to stand out with hand-drawn illustrations! After a bit of deliberation, I decided on a plant theme.

Plants are all about growth. If you consistently provide them with the elements they need to survive, they thrive! I hope that when you see these plants on your printable to-do list, you remember to do the same for yourself. Take care of yourself, and give your time to activities and causes that help you to grow as well!

How to Use the Printable Weekly Planner

First, print out a few copies of the printable weekly planner. You might consider printing out four at a time, so you have a month’s worth.

Next, if you want to, you can cut out the planner along the solid outside rectangle. This will give you an 8″ x 10″ (203 mm x 254 mm) planner that’s perfect for framing or displaying on a bulletin board!

I always start filling out my planner on a Monday. The very first thing I do is write down my top three goals for the week. They don’t have to be lofty goals! You can write down things that you’ve been putting off and would like to keep on your radar. (For example: that “Organize hall closet” is a real — and very intimidating — goal of mine!)

Next, go through and fill in all the dates (e.g. MONDAY, “Jan. 2”; TUESDAY, “Jan. 3”; WEDNESDAY, “Jan. 4”, etc.). How you do things next is up to you: I like checklists, so I populate my weekly planner with checklist items day by day. So, on a Monday, I write a list and try to complete it throughout the day. On a Tuesday, I write a new list and try to complete that throughout the day. This goes on for the whole week.

Monday through Friday features larger rectangles with ample lines for you to write on. Saturday and Sunday, however, are smaller with less lines. My hope is that the size differences encourages you to “let loose” and spend the weekend relaxing!
