I haven’t released a new video course in nearly two years, and I’m *so* excited to share this one with you.
Hand Lettering 101 is a brand-new online course that’s unfolding week by week through the summer of 2025. It’s designed to help you build a strong foundation in hand lettering—without overwhelm, and with a community alongside you.
Each Wednesday, a new video lesson is released (with a short pause around July 4th). The course started today—June 18th—but you can jump in whenever! You’ll receive reminders as new lessons drop and can attend optional live Zoom discussions to ask questions, reflect, and share your work.
The goal of this course is to build your confidence in designing and creating impactful hand lettering. By the last lesson, you’ll be able to:
Each lesson includes several videos, homework, and quizzes to help you apply what you’ve learned. Because we’re learning together, you’ll have access to a private Discord space where students can connect and share work.
Hand lettering is one of my favorite ways to relax, focus, and make something meaningful. But I know starting out can be intimidating—there are so many styles and tools to choose from! This course is my way of helping you cut through the noise and start a lettering practice that feels personal, doable, and creatively fulfilling.

I know that summer is a whirlwind of activities—trust me, I’ve got little kids who are in all the camps. With that in mind, this course was designed to support you. Follow along as the lessons drop, participate in the lesson discussions if you want to, and contribute to Discord once in a while.
