• A Free Calligraphy Meditation + Fabulous Worksheet

June 21st was World Calligraphy as Meditation Day! To celebrate, I prepared a special meditation for you. There’s also an intricate calligraphy worksheet to go along with it.

First Things First: Download the Mediterranean Tiles Calligraphy Meditation Drills

You can find the Mediterranean Tiles Calligraphy Meditation Drills for free by clicking here. Once you’ve downloaded the drills sheet, print it on calligraphy-friendly paper such as 32# HP Premium laserjet.

Then, gather your ink, art water, and your favorite pointed pen and nib combination. (Alternatively, you can use a fine-tipped brush pen such as a Tombow Fudenosuke.)

Next: Hit “Play” on the Meditation Below

Once you’ve got your drills and supplies ready to go, play the meditation below. Once the video starts, experiment with the volume to hit just the right level, take a deep breath, and begin to write.

It’s worth noting that the meditation is designed to support any form of creative practice. While the Mediterranean Tiles worksheet is a beautiful option, you’re welcome to follow along using your own freestyle drills or another project of your choice. The primary goal is simply to foster a moment of calm and focused creativity.

    After the Meditation …

Let me know if you enjoyed it! The catalyst for this worksheet and its accompanying meditation was a request from Angie Bailey of Calming Calligraphy. When she asked me to be a part of World Calligraphy as Meditation Day, the idea for this meditation began to form. That said, it’s a bit off the beaten path for me, so I’d love to hear if it resonates with you. Be sure to comment on this article or write to me ([email protected]) if that’s the case!
