Exciting things are set to appear in the TPK Catalog this year, including an intermediate calligraphy course and new worksheets! To keep everything cohesive, I’m retiring all printable mail art templates at the end of this month. On April 30th, they will disappear from the TPK catalog. You can find more details in this article!
In 2013, I made my very first printable product: mail art templates. I loved the idea of giving people a way to send intricate, artistic envelopes for a minimal time commitment! While I still think mail art templates are a super cool concept, I have decided to retire them from the TPK Catalog on Thursday, April 30.
Why Retire Printable Mail Art Templates?
To be honest, the exit of TPK’s mail art templates can be attributed to two things: springtime and quarantine. In the spring, I always weed out the TPK Catalog a bit — and the quarantine has given me more time to think about what I should pull out and put in this year.
All of the mail art templates on this website were created sometime between 2013 and 2017. Since then, I’ve come to know TPK readers better — and it seems to me that you prefer items that help you to learn something. Video courses, exemplars, and worksheets are all examples of things that thrive here! Mail art templates, while beloved, are very niche. As a result, all printable mail art templates will disappear from the TPK Catalog on April 30th. (Any mail art templates that you have purchased will be available in your TPK Account and/or your order confirmation email indefinitely.)
What’s Leaving?
Below, you’ll find a list of all the mail art templates I’ve got. These sets will no longer be available after April 30th:
These three delightful envelope designs feature black and white fairytale-themed illustrations. They’re wonderful for children or anyone with a big imagination!
These envelopes offer a perfect visual treat for springtime! Hand-drawn or hand-painted botanicals and a beautiful lace bird ensure that they stand out.
These envelope templates feature botanicals and banners! They come in color versions and black and white, so you can choose how much you want to put your printer to work.
These designs are the first templates that I ever created (in 2013)! They feature black and white designs that you can add color to or keep as-is.
How to Use TPK’s Mail Art Templates
Printable mail art templates are easy to turn into envelopes! Just print out the template on the paper of your choice, then cut it out along the guidelines. Next, fold up the bottom flap as shown in figure 1 (below). Fold in the side flaps as shown in figure 2, then use a glue stick to secure them to the bottom flap (figure 3). Then, add your contents, and glue the template shut!
Free Mail Art Templates
While all of TPK’s premium mail art envelope templates will disappear from the site, free templates will remain available for the foreseeable future! You can find a list of TPK’s free mail art templates here.
TPK’s mail art templates may have been fixtures of the TPK Catalog, but I can promise that they’ll be replaced with new items that you’ll love. Among other things, you’ll see an intermediate modern calligraphy course and at least one watercolor-focused learning resource!
Thanks so much for reading, and remember that there are so many people who could use some encouraging snail mail right now. Let’s send some good out into the world, whether you use a printable template or choose to make your own mail art!
