About the Beginner’s Modern Calligraphy Online Course:

There are no time or demonstration constraints, so I was able to include absolutely everything that you need to know! On film, I am able to communicate concepts from different shooting angles, and you can pause and re-watch videos as needed. If you don’t quite understand how to do something, there’s a “Discussion” portion under each lesson where you can ask questions. Lessons include a short quiz and homework assignments. Lindsey’s course is the only calligraphy practice I’ve found online that I constantly return to, because the lessons are so clear and the practices are fun to do while informative. The Postman’s Knock is the hub that progressed my calligraphy abilities the most – I’ve been dabbling in fine handwriting since I was a kid! I’m so thankful that this site / educational service is around, especially during lockdown. Happy to support The Postman’s Knock now and in the future!

Lindsey is an excellent teacher. She does an excellent job of clearly stepping through the basics of calligraphy. Because of this course, I no longer find the art overwhelming or daunting. Now it is fun and relaxing. Small details like cleaning the nib, after picking out the right one for me, and the right paper and ink make a huge difference! Now my friends really enjoy getting something pretty and fun in the mail. 🙂

After having tried to learn calligraphy on my own several times, I just couldn’t quite get the results that I wanted. There were many steps I was missing. But after going through the comprehensive Beginner’s Calligraphy course I was able to achieve success with Lindsey’s tutorials, from everything to know how to prep a nib to the wonderful exercises. I would recommend this course to anyone who really wants to learn. Great course!

    Dearest Lindsey,
Getting older is not the best part of my journey here. I have spent 30 years working as a licensed Hair Stylist. The 80’s and long hair perms somme taking 4 hours to roll up I quit 17 years ago I have done a lot of handwork crafting but my arthirits in my fingers seemed to get worse. At 62 I became very discouraged. My Occupational Therapist suggested I try writing daily in long hand to keep everything limber and working. I tried several ideas and classes. None satisfied me. Then I found your program and fell on love. It helped me tremendously both physically and mentally. It has strengthened my eye had coordination. Calmed my anxiety and does wonders for my depression. I did hair for 30 years most of it during the Long hair era Wrapping perm rods in tiny pieces of waist long hair sometimes taking 4 hours a head. Because of my arthritis in my fingers I retired after 30 years at 48. I have to keep my hands and mind busy so depression and anxiety keep themselves at bay, I am not whining here but Others might find this helpful. I am surrounded with family who are Occupational Therapists I have done may crafts and exercises to help with my arthritis Then my hubby came home with a study on writing long hand daily and all the benefits it would have for me. I have tried to just write but I needed something a little more engaging. I tried calligraphy classes but became discouraged I bought books of every kind still after awhile I became discouraged again So I started researching on line for tutorials and classes finding them so repaticious 😔 Then I came upon you on facebook. Everything just click. The worksheets the classes the vidio classes everything ! My Ot family looked it over too and found that it fulfilled many different modalities that would help me. So I started with this class I enjoy everything especially seeing improvement in my styling Of letters Even taking time off to sell my home and moving several counties away I started back at the beginning and haven’t seen very much muscle memory loss and if I have it comes back quickly This has brought solitude, patience and joy to me Thank you Never stop encouraging me 😘💕💗🌸🌼😊

One of my sons gave me The Postman Knocks Beginner’s Course for Mother’s Day 2020. It has been one of my favorite gifts. Between the videos and worksheets, I have felt connected with Lindsey and the course. I have always loved lettering but never really delved into calligraphy. During the course, I have learned a great deal, gained confidence, and definitely improved week by week. I find Lindsey to be an excellent instructor. Doing it on line, has given me the chance to review lessons and then move forward. The Postman Knocks Calligraphy has definitely added an artistic experience to my life and I plan to take more of the classes. Thanks for this wonderful opportunity during this time of “distancing.”

I’m so grateful to be a student of Lindsey’s! Her talent is exceptional and her ability to teach as she does, has had a huge benefit and encouragement in my Calligraphy journey! I highly recommend this video course as it’s a worthy investment of time and money! I love the encouragement she gives to create your own style once basics are mastered by constant practice. Thanks, Lindsey! You’re the best!!!

I really liked this ecourse. It taught me a lot about dip pen calligraphy. It is great that there is a worksheet which covers the material discussed in the lessons, so you can read the information as well as watch it being taught. I also like how it covers both the straight and the oblique pens. I definitely recommend this course if you are planning to learn modern dip pen calligraphy!

I am older and was taught cursive writing in elementary school, but I have never been pleased with my hand writing. I know calligraphy is more of an art form than just writing, but this course has made sending a card or jotting a note to someone so much more enjoyable. I used to dread what my cards would look like. Now I’m excited to send them.
