First-time visitors to this website often email me asking for a side-by-side comparison of the printable Learn Calligraphy for a Latté styles. Amazingly, I never have created an official comparison … until today. This post should benefit past, present, and future worksheet users; and help you to decide which calligraphy styles fit you — and your project — best. I was initially going to include all the LCfaL styles in this post, but when it began to turn into a veritable novel, I decided to split it into two parts. So, look for the second half (Janet, Beth, Hand-Lettering) in the next blog post!

Calligraphy and Lettering Layout Tips
I’ll be the first to admit that figuring out calligraphy and lettering layout can sometimes be more difficult than writing the actual words you want to lay out! That’s because there are so many choices as far as how to present your information: do you justify to the left, do you center, do you add illustrated elements to highlight certain information? What do you want your viewer’s eye to focus on first, and how do you achieve that focus?

Learn Calligraphy the TPK Way
When people ask me what I do — as in, what is my profession — I generally say I am a blogger whose main goal is to help people learn calligraphy, and modern styles in particular. Calligraphy Troubleshooting: Nib Pressure + Shaking Hand
My last blog post, How to Practice Calligraphy, was inspired by a reader’s question. All of these questions relate to shakiness when writing or nib pressure, which are issues that happen all the time, but aren’t talked about a whole lot. I have expounded on what I know about ameliorating both problems in the post below, but if you have further input {or questions!}, feel free to comment.

Ideas for Unique Modern Calligraphy
In some ways, it’s more difficult to create modern calligraphy than traditional calligraphy. In traditional calligraphy, you have very specific exemplars and rules. In modern calligraphy, however, there are no concrete rules. The whole point is to create something new and innovative that pleases you as the calligrapher. At times, that freedom can be overwhelming — the possibilities are unlimited. That’s why I’ve compiled some ideas to help you in your next modern calligraphy project, whether it’s a little thing {a written quote, perhaps} or a 300-envelope wedding calligraphy undertaking!
