Geneva (“Geni”) is my assistant here at TPK. She helps me to categorize emails, come up with blog post topics, and brainstorm new worksheet ideas. The other day, Geni brought over her bullet journals on a whim, and I was blown away! I’ve always wanted to keep a bullet journal, but my motivation fizzles after a couple of weeks. Looking through Geni’s journals made me excited to start tracking things and making lists in earnest — all with a dash of artistry — and I thought you might feel the same if you could see them! With Geni’s permission, I took several photos of her bullet journal pages, and I’m sharing them here today.

    Keeping Track Bullet Journal Ideas

    1. Pixel Mood Tracker

Geni’s “pixel tracker” kept track of her morning and afternoon moods. You can see that she wrote a key at the top, then there are months on the X axis (morning/afternoon), and days on the Y axis.

I love this idea because it provides a color summary of your year.

    2. No Eating Out

Whether you’re looking to abstain from or pursue doing something daily, this simple checkbox concept can motivate you to stay on track!

My favorite thing about this? It’s forgiving. On the days Geni did eat out, she wrote down what she ate and with who. Those days out look like fun memories!

    3. Sleep Tracker

If you struggle with getting enough sleep, this is a great idea!

I see you, faux calligraphy titles!

    4. Good Habits

Are there certain things you want encourage yourself to do daily? This is a great layout concept if so!

    5. Run Log

Whether you’re a marathoner or just a casual runner (or walker!), a run log could be a great way to encourage yourself to be active any given month.

    7. Mini Food Journal

The idea of food journaling repels me because it seems like such a commitment. When it’s all laid out on one page like this, though, it doesn’t seem that difficult! I love how Geni gave herself a theme (“no processed foods”), and stuck with that theme for one week.

I also love the quote and illustration on the left. It was created with highlighters and a simple gel pen!

    5. Meet Me

It’s fun to step back and make an introduction page. I could see this sort of self-awareness coming in handy when you meet new people!

    Memories Bullet Journal Ideas

    1. Travel Journals

I wish I would have thought to do this on all the trips I’ve gone on! Geni gave each of her days in Peru a square, and each square contains a brief summary of what she did that day.

This is a fantastic way to keep track of your trip activities without investing a ton of time! After all, when we’re traveling, we want to be out exploring — not inside recording our activities.

I love the idea of summing up a season via highlights! It would be great to have this list of things that happened and when they happened, especially since years tend to blur together as you age.
