The self-paced Beginner’s Modern Calligraphy Online Course is every bit as effective as my in-person calligraphy workshops. There are no time or demonstration constraints, so I was able to include absolutely everything that you need to know! On film, I am able to communicate concepts from different shooting angles, and you can pause and re-watch videos as needed. If you don’t quite understand how to do something, there’s a “Discussion” portion under each lesson where you can ask questions. Lessons include a short quiz and homework assignments. Note that this lesson includes a 10-page printable workbook that is separate from the course workbook. If you choose to complete this lesson, you will need a printer.
The course ends with a short video explaining your post-course homework. The total viewing time for this course is approximately 4.5 hours, but I’d recommend allocating two months to do everything that you’re asked to do in the course.

I often find myself coming back to TPK! I like your style and the Beginners Modern Calligraphy online Course was just what I needed, if you want to start straight away or at a later date, you can pause/start as much as you need to. So glad I purchased this online Course. My calligraphy has definitely improved.

I’m really enjoying the recently revamped course. Starting pointed pen calligraphy with the Amy style really helps since I find writing consistently on a slant rather difficult to do consistently well. Practicing the Amy style has helped me to get used to the pointed pen for calligraphy which now makes writing with a slanted style easier since the other dip pen basics are already dealt with!
I must also add that Lindsey was very helpful when I was trying to figure out if I should take this course or the Amy style course – she is very prompt in responding to emails which I know can be very difficult to do. Questions posted in the comment box in the course are also answered thoroughly and quickly! It is not the same as an in-person workshop but pretty close to it since you’ll have an instructor who will is committed to answering all your questions – something you might not even get in an in-person workshop due to time limitations.

I have been practicing calligraphy using all of Lindsey’s wonderful videos and templates for a few years now, so initially I thought I wouldnt need to buy a kit, gorgeous though it looked. But when the new kit came out I could not resist! It has been packed with love, care and attention to detail that makes me want to treasure the empty box, the specially printed tissue paper and the gorgeous wee gold card from The Postman’s Knock! The tools inside the box are treasures, and I see everything I purchase from TPK as a potential heirloom! If you are considering purchasing this kit – do it! You will be delighted, like I was.
