Yasutomo Sumi Ink
$6.95 – $11.00
-
Consider purchasing this ink with a Glass Ink Jar so you have a dip pen-friendly container to store it in.
Sumi ink is a favorite here at TPK because it dries a deep, matte black! Yasutomo sumi ink has a:
- Smooth, velvety consistency that’s perfect for beginners.
- Scanner-friendly finish (I use sumi ink to make the letters for all TPK worksheets!)
- Mess-free bottle that’s great for pouring the ink into a separate container.
Description
This listing is for 2 oz. or 6 oz. bottle of sumi ink, which comes in a container exactly like the one pictured. You’ll want to have a separate vessel on hand (like this glass jar) to transfer the ink into once you receive it! This ink is water-resistant, but not waterproof.
Sumi inks (KY and KF series) are certified AP non-toxic when used as a painting or drawing material. The AP (Approved Product) Seal identifies art materials that are safe and that are certified in a toxicological evaluation by a medical expert to contain no materials in sufficient quantities to be toxic or injurious to humans, including children, or to cause acute or chronic health problems (when used as recommended).

Love this ink ❤️ I had been using a Sumi stone before, but this one comes out of the bottle ready to go when I’m wanting to dig right in and not fuss with getting the consistency right. Thank you!

This is great for practice on the inkjet 32 paper.

I like the design of the bottle of this ink. It makes it easy to dispense just a little at a time into my tiny well. It is a nice ink that dries well and looks lovely.

I’m fairly new to dip pen work. My first black ink was in a speedball set. It wasn’t I tried good materials that I realized I could actually work with a dip pen. This is a great ink and really feels great to dip with.

I have tried many black inks, but the Yasutomo Sumi black ink I find it to be the best one I have purchased. 😊
