Calligraphy starter kit dimensions are 9.75″ long x 7″ wide x 2.25″ tall (24.75 cm x 18 cm x 5.75 cm).
The self-paced Beginner’s Modern Calligraphy Online Course is every bit as effective as my in-person calligraphy workshops. There are no time or demonstration constraints, so I was able to include absolutely everything that you need to know! On film, I am able to communicate concepts from different shooting angles, and you can pause and re-watch videos as needed. If you don’t quite understand how to do something, there’s a “Discussion” portion under each lesson where you can ask questions. Lessons include a short quiz and homework assignments. Note that this lesson includes a 10-page printable workbook that is separate from the course workbook. If you choose to complete this lesson, you will need a printer.
The course ends with a short video explaining your post-course homework. The total viewing time for this course is approximately 4.5 hours, but I’d recommend allocating two months to do everything that you’re asked to do in the course.

I did decent calligraphy! I expected a much longer learning curve and problems with ink blobs or paper tears. What a great introduction to this art.

This course was one of the top recommended ones online while I was looking for options, and I’m really enjoying it! The worksheets and videos are clear and easy to understand. The recommended materials were easy to acquire from the TPK starter kit, and I even picked up a cute art water cup to enhance my workstation. I’d definitely recommend this for an encouraging start.

One of the hurdles to getting started with any new project is having the right supplies. While I usually like to find the best bargain by finding the most economical vendor, it was such a weight off my shoulders to purchase the kit without having to spend all the time researching. Everything I needed was included- tried and tested and curated by Lindsey- so I could rest easy that I had everything I needed to start right away without any hangups. The tools themselves are very nice, I have a handy box to store all my supplies, and there were many personal touches in the box- embossed labels, pretty tape, and a lovely introduction card that made the kit beautiful and welcoming to receive. I am so glad the extra money was spent to take the stress out of shopping- after all, learning calligraphy is an activity I chose to help me relax. Glad I made the purchase.
