I like the idea behind Valentine’s Day: a celebration of love. In practice, though, the day is wrought with pressure to make reservations at packed restaurants and come up with elaborate romantic gestures (which is nearly impossible when you’re new parents like we are)! Furthermore, if you’re unhappily single, February 14th isn’t the happiest day ever. All things considered, I think I’ve come up with a better celebration idea for this year: rejoice in your love for creativity by filling out the new Lovely Calligraphy Drills sheet!
The Lovely Calligraphy Drills sheet has six different love or romance-themed calligraphy drills. Each drill improves your handle of a calligraphy pen and/or gives you practice with stroke contrast!
This drills sheet works with any pen, nib, and ink combination that you prefer. If you don’t enjoy using dip pens, you could write the drills with a small brush pen (like the Tombow Fudenosuke) instead!
How to Fill Out the Lovely Calligraphy Drills Sheet
I had a little bit of extra time today, so I decided to make a YouTube video to show you exactly how to fill out this sheet! The video isn’t required viewing, by any means; so if you’re pressed for time, don’t fret if you can’t watch it. I’m just hoping that it proves helpful for calligraphy beginners and/or those who prefer a visual aid!
I adore calligraphy drills because they allow you to practice calligraphy without having to write out the alphabet. There’s a calm artistry to drills, which will help you to relax — and write letters + boost your drawing/flourishing skills! Right now, the Under the Sea Drills pack is the most popular paid packet available on TPK, closely followed by the Garden Drills.
I hope that you enjoy the Lovely Calligraphy Drills sheet, and that my description and the YouTube tutorial gave you some insight on how to fill it out! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out in the comments. 🙂 I’m always glad to help out!
