Description

This self-paced Beginner’s Modern Calligraphy Online Course is every bit as effective as my in-person calligraphy workshops. There are no time or demonstration constraints, so I was able to include absolutely everything that you need to know! On film, I am able to communicate concepts from different shooting angles, and you can pause and re-watch videos as needed. If you don’t quite understand how to do something, there’s a “Discussion” portion under each lesson where you can ask questions. Lessons include a short quiz and homework assignments. Here’s the course layout, including video durations (minutes/seconds):

Lesson 1: Preparing to Create Pointed Pen Calligraphy

  • Video: Creating Faux Calligraphy (20:03)

Lesson 2: Pointed Pen Calligraphy Supplies

  • Video 1: Supplies (9:57)
  • Video 2: Prepping New Nibs (8:39)
  • Video 3: Setting Up Your Workspace (2:58)

The course ends with a short video explaining your post-course homework. The total viewing time for this course is approximately 4.5 hours, but I’d recommend allocating two months to do everything that you’re asked to do in the course.

I am a 100% newbie to calligraphy, and this course has been amazing! It’s so easy to follow and I feel so much more confident with this artform than I thought I would. I would definitely recommend this course, and can’t wait to take my next one through TPK!

Absolutely wonderful course that rekindled my love of calligraphy from 20 years ago! Lyndsey is a patient and talented teacher, and she gently instills confidence that anyone, including you, can do this. This is a great introduction to calligraphy, with lots of practice and tips. I highly recommend this course and Lindsey’s intermediate calligraphy course, too!

So many things come to mind regarding this course. For one it is comprehensive. Odeas and concepts are introduced thay were beyond my imagination. Lindsey took what I thought was an interest in calligraphy and catapulted it to a beautiful obsession.

The style and ease of instruction is on point. The next best thing to in-person lessons. And when it comws to customer service as in one does not quite get it Lindsey responds. That tickles me when I see a response and I am grateful becaose I know she has a full life.

Indeed I jave recomm3nded others to this modern calligraphy course. Truly it has opened a new dimension of lifelong happiness in my life.
