Description

This self-paced Beginner’s Modern Calligraphy Online Course is every bit as effective as my in-person calligraphy workshops. There are no time or demonstration constraints, so I was able to include absolutely everything that you need to know! On film, I am able to communicate concepts from different shooting angles, and you can pause and re-watch videos as needed. If you don’t quite understand how to do something, there’s a “Discussion” portion under each lesson where you can ask questions. Lessons include a short quiz and homework assignments. Here’s the course layout, including video durations (minutes/seconds):

  • Video: Creating Faux Calligraphy (20:03)

Lesson 2: Pointed Pen Calligraphy Supplies

The course ends with a short video explaining your post-course homework. The total viewing time for this course is approximately 4.5 hours, but I’d recommend allocating two months to do everything that you’re asked to do in the course.

This course is AMAZING. It teaches you the basics of calligraphy, how to get started, how to troubleshoot. The worksheets are amazing. And if you mess up you can just print them again! A great deal!

As a writer, I create my own cards with personal congratulations, sympathy, happy wishes, and thoughtful poetry. I thought calligraphy would make my cards more fun and attractive to open and read. During my research for a beginning course, I saw The Postman’s Knock. Intrigued by the title, I read through Lindsey’s program and viewed her beautiful work. I found a treasure! The beginning calligraphy course set me on a journey that is ongoing; her tutoring, sharing, clear instructions with photo examples all helped me gain confidence and a new skill set. When I need to review, I go back to that course and practice again. Thank you, Lindsey, and those who receive cards from me comment often at how much they enjoy my work and gift to them.

Awesome course! I really enjoyed both the online and in person beginner course. Lindsey has the most skillful process of the art of calligraphy! I have learned so much from her teaching that I am able to now create beautiful calligraphy on my own. While I am still perfecting my new skills, I will say that I wouldn’t be where I am in the process without Lindsey’s courses! I am so looking forward to learning even more with her intermediate course!

There are so many great things about this course but I think the most important is the way it’s set up to provide encouragement and manageable practice that keeps you going until you start to get the hang of calligraphy and see results you can be proud of. It does a great job providing tons of information, supply advice, and useful tips, but at the end of the day, learning calligraphy just takes time and practice to get the feel for balanced nib pressure, the correct angles, etc. This course is absolutely perfect for providing inspiring practice that kept it fun and kept me going until I got to the point that I was comfortable and motivated enough to be able to go off and do other projects/my own thing. I work a busy, full time schedule, and really didn’t need one more thing that would feel like another chore to do, but I was serious about learning calligraphy, and this made it such a breeze because it was fun from the start.

I always look forward to receiving an e-mail from Lindsay. What creative ideas she has, always keeps me motivated. The calligraphy class is easy to follow and the homework assignments follow along nicely. I got to start practicing!

This course is excellent. It explains everything (literally a-z and beyond). I have gone from being a complete novice to having a workable knowledge of what is required to be able to do calligraphy to the best of my ability. As well as showing the letter formation, I particularly like that Lindsey has projects and drills which ensure practice is fun and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is interested in calligraphy.

This course features among the top finds on Google when you search for a beginner’s Calligraphy course. Enrolling into it, provided me with a good launch pad to start learning Calligraphy. Lindsey has drills, practice styles and tips in the course that give you a good basic understanding of Calligraphy. Thanks Lindsey!

I was really impressed by Lindsey’s Calligraphy course! I was drawn to the site when searching for calligraphy supplies. I thought the TPK site offered the perfect balance of quality and affordability in the products they sell on their site and their posts were really informative. The online course was great. The materials were not too expensive at all and the pace was perfect for a beginning student, but also offered some tips that I could see being helpful for anyone. Their instagram is very cool too.

Thank you for the course. It has put a pen in my hand and opened up a new world for me. I have not yet completed the course, but I will. I have wanted to learn calligraphy for years. I am a novice, but learning as much as I can. I live in the western part of New York. When we have warm weather, you find me outside as much as possible. The colder weather puts me inside with a calligraphy pen in hand along with painting. Have a blessed day.
